Saying goodbye to someone you love and those very close to you is one of the hardest things to do. Even for animals – yes, these little guys have a lot of love and affection too, just like humans.
This video has got all us in tears, whether you love animals or not – we are certain it will have the same effect on you. Millions of people have watched and shared this heart-warming video which has been around since 2013. That is how good it is – You can never get tired of watching it.
We hope you’ll enjoy watching this intimate moment between a woman and her chimp as the chimp gives her one final goodbye before being released into the wild forever. Famous scientist Jane Goodall is indeed a true hero in the animal world.
As a huge advocate for our four-legged friends, Jane has certainly made her mark in the world of animal rehabilitation and education.
One of her greatest life missions is to rehabilitate sick chimpanzees and prepare them for a second chance in the wild. The Jane Goodall Institute in Congo is one of the main places her vision is brought to life.
When a sick chimp named Wounda showed up at Jane’s rescue and received expert care at Tchimpounga, Jane and her staff had their work cut out for them. Considering her condition, Wounda wouldn’t have been able to survive for long in the wild.
The poor chimp was relocated to Tchindzoulou Island, one of three islands that are part of the expanded sanctuary. While there, she received lifesaving care and of course love and affection.
Luckily, thanks to the care and attention given to the animals at the rescue, Wounda was able to fully regain her strength and health. It was finally time to be released into the wild for a second chance at life and to reconnect with other chimps in the wild.
It’s such a tear dropping moment – watching Wounda say goodbye to Jane for the last time. She lovingly hugs and caresses her back while saying goodbye. Jane was an absolute blessing to these creatures and Wounda loved her so much. Within the little time the two friends spent with each other, they developed a special bond based entirely on love and trust. From the video, it’s evident that the two were pretty close.
In the video, Jane speaks directly to the person recording, crediting her coworkers for saving Wounda’s life. She noted that if the chimpanzee had not been given the care and love she had, perhaps she would not have survived.
The rest gathered around Wounda as she is released from her crate. Her affection for the humans who rescued her is evident before she begins a new life journey. It’s obvious that the Jane and Wounda share a very special bond, but a new life awaits the chimp, and Jane is very confident that she will adapt to her new environment perfectly and easily.
Watch as the gate is lifted from her cage for the final time, and see her final act with Jane in the emotional video below.
