Essential oils such as tea tree oil, lemon grass, peppermint oil, clove oil, work like magic when it comes to killing ants. These natural oils are good ant repellents, they easily mask scent trails of ants and some even kill the ants on contact for example clove oil. To use them , simply dip a cotton swab in any of the above oils and place it in infested areas like cupboards.
Citrus Peel Sprays
Do not throw away those precious citrus peels after peeling your oranges. Citrus peels have a high acidic content just like vinegar, so they are good repellents too of ants. How to use them? Just add citrus peels to a pot and pour water on top of them, then heat the mixture and let it steep overnight. After that, pour the liquid in a spray bottle and spray in the ant infested areas.
Baking Soda & Powdered Sugar
Remove ants from your house by using a mixture of baking soda and sugar. Pour this mixture in areas you suspect ants to go to. The sugar will attract them while the baking soda will kill them.
Thanks to its high acidic content. Lemon juice, just like vinegar, is very effective at getting rid of ants. Try it out!
If you can’t stomach a mouthful of cayenne pepper yourself, imagine what it will do to these poor ants? Since it’s very spicy -even when you use mild quantities in your food, it’s no surprise that cayenne pepper can easily repel ants.
Cayenne Pepper sometimes even acts as a human repellent! Considering how spicy the human tongue finds this pepper to be I can only imagine how it must seem to ants. No surprise that they’ll keep far away from an area that’s been sprinkled with cayenne.
We hope the above tips will help you get rid of ants in your house completely!
